Tagging and Prep Videos

NOTICE ABOVE the dotted line is

laminated with packing tape.

Shoes are secured with a zip tie.

1. Gather Supplies & Items

It is helpful to gather supplies before you get started.  This will help the tagging process go much quicker.  Check the Accepted Items and Recalled Items to see what can be sold.

2.  Sort Items & Hang on Hangers

Sort - categorize items by gender.  Then, organize from smallest to largest size.

Question Mark - Hang clothing with the hook of the hanger looking like a “?” when looking at the front of the item. French’s Cleaners on Mt Rushmore Rd have hangers for FREE and Pac Rat Palace has them for $1.29 for 20.

All clothing must be on hangers, including onesies.  Adult wire hangers can be bent to fit clothing 5T and under.

Price - A general rule of thumb is to price 25-30% of retail price.  If you need more detailed guidance use our pricing guide.

4. Safety pin tag to the item’s size tag if there is one.  If not, pin in the seam under the left arm..  Make sure it is the GARMENTS left side (it will be right side when you are facing the garment.)

4. TIPS for Taping on Tags

Only tap above the dotted line when tapping tags onto items.  The bottom half will be torn off during the checkout process.

5. Toys in Bags, but DO NOT Tape

DO NOT tape shut the bag when tagging toys.  We will inspect toys to make sure all pieces are included and in working order.  Please note on the tag if there any pieces missing.  Please be courteous of our shoppers so they keep returning to shop with us!

6. Batteries are Required

Buy cheap batteries at the Dollar Store.  All items requiring a battery need to have a working battery to be consigned.  Electronic toys will be checked at check-in.  If there are no batteries or item is not working properly it will not be accepted.

7. Books, Movies, Games

Use blue painters tape with tagging books, puzzles, and games. This prevents the tape from ripping the item.  Packing tape can be used on movies.  DO NOT tape shut DVD cases as they will be inspected at check-in.

8. Tagging Shoes

When tagging shoes, laminate above the dotted line with packing tape to ensure that the tag does not tear.  Use a Zip tie, safety pin, or yarn to keep  shoes together.

9. Make Your Items Shine

Shoppers want to buy things that look like new.  The better your item looks, the better it will sell!  Snip loose threads.  Magic Erasers and Clorox Wipes work wonders on toys, strollers, high chairs, baby furniture, etc.

9. THANK YOU for helping local families buy quality items at affordable prices!
