Step-By-Step Guide to Being a Consignor

 Register to Be a Consignor

  • Click HERE to register to be a consignor.

  • No upfront cost!  Your consignor registration fee will be deducted from your consignor check.

  • You will receive an e-mail after registering with your consignor number and instructions will be sent on how to get started and tagging options. 

 

Gather Supplies & Items

Supplies List

  • Avery Strung Marking Tags  (optional)

  • white cardstock paper (if you are printing your own tags, will be given at Supply Pick-Up)

  • hangers (are available at Consignor Pick-up OR you can get from French Cleaner's on Mt. Rushmore Rd)

  • packing tape (used for securing Ziploc bags and laminating shoe tags)

  • painter's tape (if consigning books or games)

  • safety pins (for clothes)

  • Ziploc bags (toys)

  • zip ties (large items, shoes, toys, etc.)

 

Prepare Items

  • Clean items

    • Break out the elbow grease and make your items shine! Shoppers want to buy items that look new. The better your item looks, the better it will sell!  Wash, press, and snip loose threads on clothing items.  Magic Erasers and Clorox wipes work wonders on toys, strollers, high chairs, baby furniture, etc. Wash each part of the item - straps, seat covers, buckles, attached toys, legs, etc. Don't forget to clean the bottom of items too

Sort Items & Hang on Hangers

Sort - organize items by gender and size.  

 

Question Mark - Hang clothing with the hook of the hanger looking like a “?” when looking at the front of the item. Hangers will be supplied for FREE at Supply Pick-up, French’s Cleaners have hangers for FREE, or Pac Rat Palace has them for $1.29 for 20.  

 

All clothing must be on hangers, including onesies.  Adult wire hangers can be bent to fit baby/toddler clothes.

Choose No Tracking Option or Tracking Option for Items

 

No Tracking Option

Items will not be tracked in a Google Sheets.  Simply fill out tags, pin to item, and drop off at sale location during your appointment time.

1. Either print tags or Sweet Arrows will provide tags.  

Click PDF to print tags.

 

2. Fill out information on the tag.

Donate Y / N - If you do not mark, Sweet Arrows will assume that item will be donated.

#__________ - Your assigned Consignor #.  Once you have been assigned a consignor number, that will always be your number.  So, items can easily transition to the next sale event. 

Item # - CAN BE LEFT BLANK 

Gender - M / F  If item is gender neutral, choose category that you think it will sell best.

Size - write size of item (leave blank if it doesn't apply)

Description-  Write item description.  This will be helpful if the tag gets separated from item.

1/2 Sale - Y / N   We highly recommend you participate in our 1/2 off sale, but the choice is up to you.  If this is not marked, item will be assumed to be part of the half-off sale event.

Price - A general rule of thumb is to price 25-30% of retail price.  If you need more detailed guidance use our pricing guide.

 

3.Safety pin tag to the item’s upper left side.  Make sure it is the GARMENTS left side (it will be right side when you are facing the garment.)  If item is delicate, pin in the seam under the left arm.

Tracking Option

Items will be entered into Google Sheets and you can see what items sold and price it sold for.

 

1. Gather your clothing organized by categories to your computer.

 

2. Open your Google Sheets document.

 

3. Enter information and number garment on tag.

- We highly recommend that you participate in the 1/2-off sale to increase your consignor check. Make sure to indicate your decision on the tag!  

- A general rule of thumb is to price 25-30% of retail price.  If you need more detailed guidance use our pricing guide. Do this carefully and accurately.  You can save your work and work on it later if needed. Information needs to be entered by the deadline if you want Sweet Arrows to print them, come to drop-off and you can attach them quickly and accurately. Safety pin AVERY Strung Marking tag to the item’s upper left side.  Make sure it is the GARMENTS left side (it will be right side when you are facing the garment.)  If item is delicate, pin in the seam under the left arm.

       

Choose the way you will have your tags printed for tracking option.

 

OFFICE DEPOT OPTION-  Sweet Arrows will have them printed at Office Depot if completed by the deadline (this is stated in your welcome email) and you will pick them up. Safety pin tag to the item’s upper left side.  Make sure it is the GARMENTS left side (it will be right side when you are facing the garment.)  If item is delicate, pin in the seam under the left arm.

Refer other Consignors

  • For each new consignor that you refer, you will receive $10 CA$H!  When new consignor is registering, they should put your name in the “Referred By” box.  The consignor must be new to Sweet Arrows.  Immediate family (husband, daughter, etc.) do not qualify. 

 

Check email regularly for reminders and tips.

Drop-Off

  1. PARK on the west side in the back of the church.  Look for the sign that says CHECK IN HERE! When you arrive to drop off items, leave your items in your vehicle.  You will be given your scheduled pick-up time for unsold items, Consignor Pre-Pass, and a car seat or crib disclosure form if needed.

  2. BRING your items to the Inspection Station and a check-in associate will make sure your clothes are hung and tagged correctly and are free of stains, tears, missing buttons, etc. before being placed on the sales floor.  Please do not be offended if some of your items are rejected.  It is easy to overlook a small flaw when preparing for the sale.  Be sure you have working batteries in items that need them.

  3. After check-in process, all clothing items must be placed BY CONSIGNOR on the correct rack and all other items must be placed on the sales floor in the designated area. 

 

Shop the Pre-Sale Event

Pick-Up

  • Consignors have the option of donating their unsold items to Safe Families and The Cornerstone Mission or picking them up.  Items that are not picked up will be donated to Safe Families and The Cornerstone Rescue Mission.  If you know that you want to donate some or all of your items, please mark these items while creating the tags.

  • When picking up check-in first.  Then, gather all your items using your consignor number and proceed to check-out where your items will be verified.  Remember larger items as they will be separate from the clothing.  Sweet Arrows is not responsible for any items that are forgotten.

  • There will be a lost and found area that we encourage you to look through as you leave.

  • All items that are left after your scheduled pick-up will be donated.

Receive Check in the Mail

  • Checks will be mailed within 14 day after the sale.
